Total prize fund is 39,000.00 EUR.
distributed as follows:
For Open “A” prize fund is 19,700.00 EUR;
for Open “B” 8,000.00 EUR;
for Mediterranean Championship prize fund is 9,000.00 EUR;
for the Mediterranean Rapid Championship U20 prize fund is 1,500.00 EUR
for Open Blitz Tournament prize fund will be 800.00 EUR.
The best players from the country’s members of the Mediterranean Chess Association will become the Mediterranean Champions for 2026 and receive cup and gold medal, separately in the Open and Women’s categories. The second and third placed players in both categories will receive silver and bronze medals respectively.

THE PRIZES FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN CHAMPIONSHIP ARE CUMULATIVE WITH THE REGULAR PRIZES IN THE OPEN A TOURNAMENT.
Women compete for both the Open and the Women’s prizes, but they may receive only one prize from the Mediterranean prize fund, the higher one.
Prizes to the Open “A” tournament in total amount of 19,700.00 EUR will be divided to the regular prizes prize fund: 15,000.00 EUR and special prizes prize fund: 4,700.00 EUR.

For regular prizes, the Hort system will be used. Special prizes are not divisible. Player may receive only one prize (the higher one).

Prizes to the Open “B” tournament in total amount of 8,000.00 EUR will be divided to the 12 regular prizes.
Hort system will be used for the Open B tournament.

For the Mediterranean Rapid Championship – U20 & U14 categories, the best players will become the Mediterranean Rapid Champions for 2026 (separately U20 & U14 in Open and Girls section) and receive cups and gold medals. The second and third placed players in both categories (separately U20 & U14 in Open and Girls section) will receive silver and bronze medals respectively.
- In the U20 category, there is a prize fund in total amount of 1,500.00 EUR
- In the U14 category, in both Open and Girls category, valuable prizes are guaranteed for the top 5 players.
